Kismet Risk Management Associates, LLC (KRMA) was founded with the mission to create stronger connections with our producers, stop loss policyholders, and health plan members - in a way that is responsible and safe for everyone. This commitment is even more important as we work to address the short- and long-term impacts during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. With that in mind, KRMA has teamed up with OptiMed Health Partners (OHP) to offer our stop loss clients’ access to enhanced healthcare access options recommended by the CDC, and other national healthcare organizations, associations and agencies.
Health experts recommend and encourage the utilization of remote services whenever possible, including with the delivery of infusion therapies. Hospital systems are overwhelmed with preparations and care for the afflicted, and members accessing these institutions for routine services are exposed to health risks. Patients that are on many treatments for ailments such as Crohn’s Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and others are especially at risk for COVID-19 complications based on their diagnosis and treatment regimen(s).
To help with infused or injected treatments, OHP is dedicated to deliver solutions whereby these services can be provided in recommended safe environments, including patients’ homes without additional financial impact to the self-funded plan. KRMA will work with each of our policyholders and OHP to create a seamless processing of stop loss claims as specific deductibles are met. Together this will ensure timely access to treatment, reduced health risks and lower costs - all at a time when we are faced with tough human and economic choices.
There are and will continue to be significant challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. Please know that together, our teams at KRMA and OHP are closely monitoring the situation, and we are dedicated to creating timely solutions for our clients and the people impacted by this crisis.
